What the GBMC credential assesses — and how it is awarded.
This pilot version makes the rules visible before candidate access opens. It separates preparation, assessment and the human certification decision.

Assessment blueprint
Five domains, one integrated view.
The weighting prevents strength in one domain from concealing insufficient understanding of sustainable value, impacts or governance.
GBMC architecture & coherence
Connect the canvas blocks, explain their interdependencies and identify inconsistencies in the model.
Impacts, indicators & evidence
Define boundaries and baselines, distinguish outputs from impacts, and document positive, negative and trade-off effects.
Viability, resources & partners
Assess the activities, resources, costs, revenue and partnerships required for credible implementation.
Governance, claims & decisions
Control traceability, distinguish hypotheses from evidence, govern claims and frame the contribution of AI tools.
Decision pathway
An exam score alone is not sufficient to award the credential.
Prepare
The candidate studies the standard and completes applied activities. Training supports preparation but does not guarantee success.
Assess
One 40-item multiple-choice attempt with shuffled answers in 45 minutes. The pilot passing score is 70%.
Review
An authorised manager checks identity, result, evidence consistency and any anomalies.
Decide
The badge is awarded manually. BMC2Green AI may help formulate hypotheses but never makes the certification decision.
Credential lifecycle
Rules that continue after the exam.
Validity & renewal
The pilot credential is valid for 24 months from the award date. Renewal will require a targeted update and a fresh capability check before expiry.
Retake
No retake is granted automatically. After a failed attempt, an authorised manager reviews the result and defines remediation before any reopening.
Appeals
Candidates may submit a reasoned review request within 15 calendar days of the decision. The appeal is reviewed by someone who did not make the original decision.
Suspension or revocation
A credential may be suspended or revoked for proven fraud, a material error or misleading use. The decision, reason and history are retained.
